Gordon needs to stop the coffee talkingBy Jason Brandon – Braidwood, ILI am a little disgusted that all I read about is State Representative Careen Gordon hosting coffee talks when we have 137,000 students across the state that will lose college financial aid because, back in July, the legislature slashed MAP grant funds by 50 percent in an attempt to balance the state budget. As a result, my daughter, who attends Joliet Junior College and qualifies for MAP aid, will receive nothing to continue school in the spring. We are going everywhere we can to borrow money for school. My daughter and the other students are the ones that need the progression in their lives the most and who have the hardest time getting there. Where are our Representative’s priorities?
