Aaron Smith, 22, Blackstone, was placed on supervision for six months and fined $250 for illegal transportation of liquor at Eighth and Oak, South Wilmington.

Thomas Sandeno, 17, 151 Creekside, Gardner, was placed on supervision for six months, fined $250 and ordered to attend driver's school for speeding. A ticket for disobeying the stop sign at Carbon Hill Road and Illinois 129 on Oct. 1 was dismissed.

A ticket for not having a valid license was dismissed against Melissa Welter, 30, 230 Lake, South Wilmington. She was cited Oct. 12 at Lynn and Third, South Wilmington.

Jennifer Stanley, Indian Trail Road, Verona, was fined $75 for allowing a dog to run at large Aug. 17 along DuPont Road.

Lincecum, Greinke win Cy Young awards

Zack Greinke justly won the American League Cy Young award earlier this week. I'm not so sure Tim Lincecum of San Francisco deserved his second straight win in the NL, which he received today.
