Gardner man sentenced to prison for heroin possession

A Gardner man was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday after he appeared in circuit court and pleaded guilty to a possession of heroin charge.

Thomas Robbins, 26, 165 Creekside, Gardner, was arrested Dec. 17, 2008, during a raid by Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad agents and Grundy County deputies, which resulted in the arrest of 14 people.

He was given credit for two days served, ordered to pay $1,300 in costs and assessments, submit a DNA sample and pay the $200 fee.
