I am one of the original volunteers from JA, who left 3 years ago, because as treasurer, I found too many conflicts with the cash flow.Sounds like they have a monopoly of the board with family/friends. Can a paid Director also be Board President? I see nothing has changed. Animals have always been well cared for though. I see nothing changes there. Push away volunteers who come in after work or on weekends, so you can pay the family. Sad.
Velma Dinkley regarding Additional bids sought for landfill water tests
Warren Olson of Chamlin said the survey includes recording the exact location and elevation of each well and plotting them on the GPS. Very impressive Warren,
you got one of those fancy cell phones too.

Hi all. Just Animal's books are open for all. They have a wondeful grant from PetSmart, and can't wait to assist the stray feral cats WITHIN the city limits. When we can get a volunteer to organize the transport we will be taking our FERAL cats for spay/neuter. The grant was for the PEOPLE of Seneca, all of the people, not for one organization, or one person. So people of Seneca thank you for your support, you are part of the solution.

Kudos to Just Animals for their amazing success and foritude through all the drama of running a non-profit with rougue volunteers taking credit. As a volunteer for many years with Just Animals I know 1st hand the difficulties the Director has had to overcome. I am disappiointed by the writer of this article for not checking her facts and following up. No one from Just Animals even had a chance to attend such an important event. Thank You Seneca for your love we appreciate all of you. Please visit us and our many unsung heros that work ever single day at the Shelter and not just once in a while.
dyna regarding Other court news
WOW! And they wonder why people end up with 3 to 4 DUI's in their lifetime...because when they're young and don't have to pay any price for the things they do wrong, they don't learn anything. Didn't anyone learn anything from the Jahn's passing????? Even if they weren't driving I can bet they have driven while driving before and let's face it, how experienced of a driver was anyone at that age. Shame on our court system...Just one more reason Morris is falling to pieces.
TOM regarding Dist. 1's results speak louder than words
Can't speak for the higher test scores but regarding low tax rates that can be explained in one word, Dresden.

On November 6th I sent a letter to the board Members of Just animals shelter, I have not had a reply from them. I called Brenda mid October and asked her about the grant they received to spay or neuter cats. Brenda said at this time they were not ready to do this but she would call me back. On November 3rd I called back and asked if they were ready to pick up the stray cats, Brenda stated that they were not going to trap them and that if it became to big of a problem they would give the grant back. I guess they will not need any fund raisers or donations if they are able to turn a grant this size down. I will not longer be giving to this animal shelter. I also felt I deserved an answer to my letter. I know they will say it's too cold, then come spring, say the money is gone. Didn't Jennifer B. write that grant for you guys? Where's the $7,000? And why aren't you using it for Seneca's stray cats?

Don't count on any support in the future. Jen will be greatly missed at the shelter. She did alot of behind-the-scenes work for the shelter. Good Luck! By the way--where's all the grant money that Jen got for the shelter?!!

I was dismissed by the paid board that consists of Brenda Leake, paid under the table for years until the last treasurer stopped this, now she gets a check. Her sister drives from Princeton 55 miles each way to "volunteer", when there is ashelter in Princeton. Board is Brenda, her sister, sister's friend, Cheri C. pays herself for mileage. Jennie A. gets paid to medicate the cats, and Rob who is honest and innocent. I started stepping away, when you spent the $5,000 in kennel donations that shoul have went to ALL TYPE Fence for Steel kennels, and instead pocketed the money and had the boy scouts put in aluminum kennels for free. When you keep $800 in a petty cash drawer, something's wrong. Having family on a board that receives salaries is a conflict. It is also wrong to bypass the animals in Seneca and LaSalle county to work with Bureau county instead. Oh, I forgot, that's where 1/3 of the board lives. I have financial sheets, copies of web page donations, pictures of steel kennels/vs. aluminum kennels, emails that back up the facts. Anyone wishing to see them, let me know.

I am also very excited for Seneca and commend Ms. Bilyeu for her 12 years as a very active Shelter Member. But I must clarify the "DISMISS" statement printed by one of the JA Board Officers (whom is getting paid /and using the shelter van for personal use from home to the shelter) ..Jennifer was working to help two Not For Profits, the Board at JA Shelter didn't like it that they had to split profits - so the Board (Of which four are getting paid-which one is a sister of the President)elected to "boot" Ms. Bilyeu off. Plus Ms. Bilyeu worked hard to get a $7000 grant from PetSmart to spay/neuter ferals that JA Shelter can't seem to get any animals(per the contract) spayed..hmmmm where is that money - or is it like the kennel money that only $2500 was actually spent on new kennels and the remainder of the $2500 in donations was put into their coffers. Sorry "2ndHandRanch&Rescue"(Sister of President)- there are too many people that know exactly what you board members are really doing...you really should go get a real job if you want money - don't take it from the innocent animals.
